Danielle & Joshua
This is such a fun elopement that I photographed in late 2021, that made the world feel a little smaller and a lot homier.
I am a part of some Las Vegas Wedding & Elopement Facebook pages so that I can market and find clients and help document their special day. Danielle posted on one of those pages, and I responded with my availability. She noticed my work and liked what she saw, so she sent me a message on Facebook. When I opened her message I saw she was from Upstate NY and we had mutual friends! Guys, I come from a small town of maybe 3,000.. so this was very cool and exciting!
After messaging a bit, I found out her and her fiancé grew up in the neighboring towns to where I also grew up. She booked me finding me on the Las Vegas page and not based off of my business reputation at home. HOW COOL!! It was SO exciting for me to have a piece of home travel to Vegas, even if it was someone who I had never met before.
During their bridal portriats we were able to laugh and joke around about some hometown things, and it was music to my ears and so special to my heart. The leap of moving 2,000 plus miles from New York to Las Vegas is a pretty big one, but the reminder of how small the world is made me feel so close.
Danielle and Joshua had been doing a long distance engagement because Joshua was in the military stationed all the way in California. Danielle had planned to fly out to visit her fiancé for Thanksgiving, but the two decided to spontaneously tie the knot in Vegas! It was such a sweet story and an even sweeter elopement in so many ways, and I am beyond grateful for the friendship and time spent with these two!
